Below is a list of the most frequent error messages users might encounter while using our EASY Bots, along with quick recommendations on how to address each issue.

1. “Configuration file not found. (non-string passed)” 🚫

Log message:

“configuration file not found. (non-string passed) Please Add your AiKey and AiID in .txt File. MQL5 –> Files. Check FAQ – forexroboteasy.com/errors Make the changes. Then restart MT5 or Add the EA to the chart again.”

What it means: The expert advisor couldn’t find or read the configuration file containing your (AiKey and AiID). Typically, this happens if you forgot to place the file in the correct directory or misspelled the file name.

How to fix it:

1. Open your Common folder in the MetaTrader 5 data directory (go to “File” → “Open Data Folder” → “Terminal” → “Common”→ “Files”) botname.txt file.
2. Ensure the file containing AiKey and AiID is actually there, and make sure its name matches what’s specified in the EA settings.
3. Check if there is a space between “:” “and your AiKey”. There should be no space.
4. Restart MT5 or remove the expert advisor from the chart and add it back again.
5. Check the journal to confirm that the error message has disappeared.

2. “[ERROR] Please Add your AiKey and AiID in .txt File” 📄🔑

Log message:

“[ERROR] Please Add your AiKey and AiID in .txt File. MQL5 –> Terminal –> Common –> Files. Check FAQ – forexroboteasy.com/errors Make the changes. Then restart MT5 or Add the EA to the chart again.”

What it means: The .txt file with your AiKey and AiID either can’t be found or doesn’t contain valid data. Without these keys, the bot can’t utilize its built-in AI modules.

How to fix it:

1. Create (or open) a .txt file in the MQL5/Terminal/Common/Files folder and enter your AiKey and AiID inside.
2. Double-check the spelling of both the keys and the file name.
3. Restart your terminal or remove the EA from the chart and add it again.

3. “⛔[1][ERROR] Version for tester only” 🧪

Log message:

“⛔[1][ERROR] Version for tester only. According to the given conditions there is no better set for this trading instrument on the current market.”

What it means: You’re using a build of the expert advisor intended exclusively for the Strategy Tester in MetaTrader 5. The message also indicates that no better .set file or configuration has been found for the current market conditions.

How to fix it:

1. Make sure you have the correct non-test version of the bot if you want to trade on a real or demo account.
2. Verify your license key or other data—perhaps you’re using a restricted version of the advisor.
3. Check our resources or reach out to support to see if a .set file is actually available for the instrument you’re trading.

What If the Error Persists? 🤷

• Review the journal (Tools → Journal or the Journal tab in MT5) to see if the message has changed or if any new hints are provided.
• Restart the terminal—sometimes MT5 doesn’t immediately recognize updated files, and a reboot helps it catch up.
• Contact documentation or support if the error keeps recurring, even though you’ve tried all recommended fixes.
