FAQ
The foreign exchange (Forex) market is known for its volatility and unpredictability during important economic news releases. Even the most reliable and stable trading strategies can face sharp price fluctuations, sometimes leading to significant drawdowns. Below, we’ll explore the risks associated with trading during news events and the solutions we offer within the EASY Bots ecosystem.
Why Is It Important to Factor in News? 🤔
- Sharp Price Swings: Under the influence of high-impact economic releases, prices can “fly” within seconds, which may lead to severe slippage and unexpected losses.
- Wider Spreads: Brokers often widen spreads during volatile periods, negatively impacting profitability even on short-term trades.
- Unstable Trading Conditions: It becomes more difficult to predict market behavior, as technical analysis may temporarily lose its accuracy.
Recommendations: Disable Auto-Trading During Major News ⏸️
Since we have not yet integrated a built-in news filter into our algorithms, we strongly recommend that users manually track upcoming news and disable auto-trading during these times. You can use the MetaTrader 5 economic calendar or any other source of economic news to stay informed.
- Preparation: Check the MT5 news calendar for the upcoming week and note significant events (e.g., speeches by central bank heads, Non-Farm Payrolls, etc.).
- Action During News Releases: Disable auto-trading about 15–30 minutes before the release, then re-enable it once the market has stabilized.
- Demo Testing: If you’re curious about how our bots behave during news events, test them on a demo account. This way, you can evaluate the risks without risking real funds.
Our Upcoming “News” Service: How Will It Work? 🚀🤖
We understand that manually disabling trading requires constant vigilance. That’s why we’re currently developing an additional service that will run in parallel with our algorithm, creating its own news database. The bot will then have special configuration parameters connecting to this database, enabling flexible control over trading.
What Will Be Added? 🆕
- Integrated Filter: The bot will not only be able to disable trading before high-impact news, but also, if needed, enable trading specifically during periods of high volatility.
- Color Coding: The “News (Grey/Yellow/Red)” parameter will let you choose the criticality of news. For example, “Red” could represent the most impactful releases, while “Grey” might denote minor events.
- Time Settings: You’ll be able to specify how many minutes before the release the bot should stop trading and how many minutes after the news it should wait before resuming.
- Logging: Every news filter operation will be recorded in a detailed log (
[Calendar]
). For example:[Calendar] - Trade Disable Before news release.
[Calendar] - Trade Enable After news release.
- …and other scenarios.
Please note that our algorithms call the AI model on each new brokerage tick. Integrating a news filter directly into the core code could reduce the bot’s performance, so we decided to implement this functionality through a separate service.
Why Wait for the Full-Fledged Solution? ⏳
- Performance: Separating the bot’s logic from the news filter system will allow the bot to continue processing incoming data quickly, while the service quietly works “behind the scenes,” building a “news library.”
- Versatility: You’ll gain the ability to finely tune filtering, based on the significance of each event or your personal trading strategy.
- Convenience and Safety: You won’t have to stay “on alert” and manually turn trading on or off with every economic release.
Bottom Line: Trade Responsibly and Consider Market Potential 💼
While the news filter feature is not yet implemented, we recommend all users closely monitor news calendars and disable auto-trading in EASY Bots during critical economic releases to avoid unexpected losses.
If you’d still like to see how the bot performs “under fire,” try it on a demo account and carefully analyze the results. The safety of your funds is our shared priority, so never risk more than you can afford to lose.
